The mission of the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (FSR) is to find better treatments and potentially a cure for sarcoidosis. Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease characterized by the formation of granulomas in one or more organs of the body including skin, lungs, and heart.
FSR is the leading international nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure for this disease and to improving care for sarcoidosis patients. Since its establishment in 2000, FSR has fostered over $5 million in sarcoidosis-specific research efforts and has worked diligently to provide resources to thousands.
Through fellowships, small grants and our large grant programs, FSR provides opportunities for growth in the sarcoidosis research community and fills a critical need in the design and execution of translational research. FSR partners world leaders in sarcoidosis, investing in innovative, patient-centered research efforts and providing educational resources, support, and opportunities to accelerate research to patients worldwide.
FSR believes in the power of community. FSR looks to provide patients and caregivers access to support systems to help them on their sarcoidosis journey. FSR’s patient advocacy programs help those living with sarcoidosis to find a knowledgeable healthcare providers, to navigate complex health decisions and disability processes, and to provide one-on-one and group support by those with shared experiences.
FSR provides those living with sarcoidosis opportunities to learn from world leading experts in sarcoidosis clinical care and research. FSR creates and distributes printed materials, e-newsletters, and blogs, as well as hosts webinars, town halls, and podcasts, in order to keep our community informed.
FSR advocates on behalf of our community to improve patient access to medications and treatments, to increase funding opportunities in support of sarcoidosis research, and to reduce barriers to necessary support and care.
FSR believes in the power of many to join forces for true game-changing results in sarcoidosis research. FSR believes the only path to improving patient care and support is through collaboration.
